Writing Place, 1-Day Creative Writing Workshop with Demi Anter
Course fee
£20.00
Date and time
Sunday 16th February 2025, 13:00 - 17:00
Description
From small villages where everybody knows your name, to wilderness’s idyllic solitude, to the bustale of big cities–the places we know and love are part of what makes us who we are.
Throughout this four-hour workshop, we will explore how authors have conveyed a sense of place throughout history and across genres, with examples from a wide range of poets, memoirists, travel writers and fiction writers.
Using accessible creative writing exercises, writer and facilitator Demi Anter will guide us in finding new ways of communicating place in our writing, no matter the genre or project. We will also learn how to access all of the senses, not only the visual, in describing our surroundings and telling stories of the places that have shaped us.
All types of writers are welcome. This workshop is open to new writers as well as experienced writers.
