We are delighted to invite you to this very special ‘Private View, to experience this captivating exhibition “THE MUSIC ROOM” by Ireland’s renowned artist Tim Goulding. Tim, a member of ‘Aosdana”, (the official collective of the most distinguished artists in Ireland), brings to the ICC his latest exhibition of paintings, which have been inspired by music, emphasising harmony and rhythm.

“I constructed the paintings as I might arrange a musical work, paying attention to counterpoint, harmony and the spaces between that imply rhythm. I am trying to emphasise a feeling of uplift, joy, and harmony. ‘Singing with colour’ is a good analogy”. –Tim Goulding

About Tim

Born in Dublin 1945, Tim grew up in County Wicklow beside the Dargle River; He was educated in England from the age of 7. His Father, Sir Basil Goulding, was a leading collector of contemporary and international art and so it’s not surprising that young Tim, who grew up surrounded by magnificent contemporary and classical art works, would be destined to carve out a career as a unique and original contemporary artist.

Also, a respected poet and a writer, Tim’s primary career has always been in painting, at which he is self-taught; but he also always maintained a practice as a mesmerising musician, primarily with the acclaimed band psychedelic folk band, Dr Strangely Strange, (1967-present) - who are about to release  their 5th album  later this year.

At this private view you will have the unique opportunity to see the short film ‘A Day in the Life - Tim Goulding’ on the ICC’s Cinema Screen.
