Singing

Our singing classes focus on the harmony of group singing using Irish songs and ballads. If you are interested in finding out how to use your voice safely as a singer and explore your musicality, this is the class for you. It is also a great way to meet people and there will be lots of public performance opportunities!

About Sheila Moylan:

Sheila Moylan was born in County Laois Ireland to a musical family who as a group of 7 siblings performed locally at small venues. Later she teamed up with her two sisters to sing together at weddings. Moving to the UK in the 80s interrupted the music and Sheila did a Fine Art B.A. with Psychology at U.E.L. She went on to work with young people with a variety of issues in schools and other settings for many years. An unusual gift of a harp from her music teacher sister 10 years ago began a love affair with the instrument that changed everything for Sheila. She got lessons and began to play the harp and sing for those in care homes and in small cafe-style settings. She also became an art tutor/artist working in the community leaving her school based role for good. She loves to encourage others to be creative and express themselves through singing and her repertoire of irish songs is endless.
