Description

IMLÉ are a collective of musicians under the stewardship of Dublin-based musician and producer Cian Mac Cárthaigh. IMLÉ mix different musical styles  together in a way that has never been heard before in the Irish language musical sphere. They have released two albums so far, their self-titled debut in 2016 and FÁILTE ISTEACH in 2022. IMLÉ have just released a new single entitled SLÁINTE featuring Dublin hip-hop artist James Shannon and Conamara singer Róisín Seoighe. New singles are coming in October 2025 followed by an EP in early 2025. The group recently had two versions of their song PEACACH was used as the main title music in the international Netflix series BODKIN.

The current IMLÉ line-up features Cian Mac Cárthaigh, multi-instrumentalist Neil Ó Briain and singers/rappers Róisín Seoighe and James Shannon.

Róisín Seoighe is a musician and singer from Connemara. Her music ranges from pop and folk to traditional music. Róisín began her musical journey as a sean-nós singer. She has worked with popular artists such as Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh and John Spillane. With IMLÉ she has performed many of their most popular tracks such as ÉAD and Do Chuid Jeans.

James Shannon is a rapper/singer/producer from Blanchardstown in Dublin, Ireland. Specialising in alternative hip-hop and R&b, his music features catchy hooks, story-telling lyrics and tuneful melodies. He began making waves in the Irish hip-hop scene in 2022 headlining and selling out many of the cities main venues alongside frequent collaborator Noremac. Since then, he has released singles as a solo artist including “Where The Lights Are Bright” featuring Conor Eiffe, and “Tough Lovin’ Dublin”. He  began to collaborate with ‘Imlé’ in 2024, performing a remix of the song ‘Cathain A D’Fhill Tú ó Shasana’ on Ireland AM followed by the release of the single SLÁINTE.
