An introductory course to two collections of Irish art, with The National Gallery of Ireland and a special guided tour of the V&A

This special Irish Art Study Day will consist of a 2-part lecture – A General Introduction to two collections of Irish art:

  1. “Highlights of the National Gallery of Ireland”
  2. “Highlights of the Irish collection at the V&A”.  This will be followed by a guided tour of Irish art at the V&A.

 Jenny Phelan achieved a BA in History of Art and Architecture, and Sociology from Trinity College Dublin, specialising in Irish Modern and Contemporary Art. She then completed an MA in Museum Studies from University College London. She has worked in a number of cultural institutions around the world including the National Gallery of Ireland, The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and the Royal Academy of Art in London. For the past nine years, Jenny has worked at the Victoria and Albert Museum, where she manages the art history course programme.
